For Family and Friends
Are you seeking help for a family member or friend struggling with alcoholism or drug dependence? Nearly half of the calls we receive every day come from someone like you – someone who cares enough to reach out.
Drug and alcohol addiction affects everyone
At Janus, we specialize in assisting people with addiction along their road to recovery. But we also work with their loved ones in the healing process, which is another important part of the journey.
Our Admissions staff members are available to assist friends and family by talking directly to the person who needs treatment, coaching you in ways you can help, or even coordinating travel arrangements if needed. We will do whatever we can to welcome our clients into treatment as quickly and comfortably as possible.

Recovery starts with the first step
We know that the effects of addiction reach far beyond the individual. The challenge of dealing with a drug or alcohol dependent loved one can create physical, emotional and psychological stress, and often leaves friends and family members feeling frustrated, angry or powerless.
Our caring Staff is experienced in working with families of addiction. We understand the anxiety, confusion and even guilt that can arise. And we’re here to help.

Janus Residential Treatment Family Program
Clients’ family members and loved ones are strongly encouraged to participate in the free Family Program held every Saturday at our Residential Treatment Center, although we do not contact family members without the client’s consent.
The Family Program offers education and support through interactive group meetings: some are specifically dedicated to friends and family members only, but all are designed to help both clients and family members learn more about their roles in the addiction and recovery process. The Janus Family Therapist, an essential member of the treatment team, leads all groups.
The day begins with a Morning Meeting for friends and family only, followed by support and education sessions with clients included. The Afternoon Meeting features an open multifamily support group.
Janus Perinatal Treatment Family Program
Janus’ Perinatal Residential Treatment Family Program is held on the third Tuesday of each month at the Mondanaro-Baskin Center for Women and Children. Clients’ family members and loved ones are strongly encouraged to participate in this free program.
After attending at least one of these Family Programs sessions, family and friends are then welcome to visit clients enrolled in the Perinatal program during visiting hours on Sundays.
