How do I start? What's the first step?
You’re taking the most important step now by deciding to learn about treatment. First, contact us. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Or, come to our office at 200 7th Avenue in Santa Cruz, Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. One of our staff members will answer all of your questions and, if you wish, get you started on the admissions process.
How much does treatment cost?
Each individual’s cost of treatment depends on many factors including:
- Level of care (residential care costs more than outpatient counseling, for instance)
- Length of time in treatment
- Insurance Coverage
Call us and ask about our treatment costs and affordable payment options. Our goal is to make programs available toeveryone.
- For Santa Cruz County residents who cannot afford to pay, public funding may be available.
- If you are paying for your own treatment, you may qualify for a rate based on a sliding scale adjusted to your income.
- Most programs are covered by Medi-Cal.
- We accept most insurance. If you provide us with your plan and coverage information we can verify coverage over the phone now.
How long does treatment take?
Time in treatment is tailored to each individual. Lifetime Aftercare Counseling Groups are offered to all clients who successfully complete the program. See Affordable Care
Can my friends and family visit me if I'm in Residential Treatment?
Yes, your family and friends may visit and, in most cases, we’d like them to be an integral part of your treatment. Visiting times are provided by invitation and we encourage visitors, both adults and children, to attend the Saturday Family Program and other family programs at Janus. A specific time and day is provided for visiting with children.
How successful are your programs?
What type of licensing and accreditation does Janus have?
Janus is a private nonprofit corporation, licensed and certified by the State of California’s Department of Health Care Services. Janus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and is one of the few programs on the Central Coast with this accreditation. Janus earns consistently high ratings on Client Satisfaction Surveys, as well as State Licensing and National Accreditation treatment program reviews. Janus is also an educator, providing continuing education units for the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals. Our clinical staff all have active licensure and accreditation in their specific roles.
I'm in treatment - what if my family and friends need help to understand what I'm going through?
With your written permission, we can talk with those family members you designate. We will welcome them into the family portion of your program and urge them to participate in Janus activities that support your treatment and recovery.
What about after I leave treatment: is there any continuing support?
Lifetime Aftercare Groups are provided to all clients who are successfully discharged from any Janus program. But we want you to stay in touch with us in whatever way will strengthen your continuing recovery. Janus is a Recovery Home –we’re here to help for life.
